Concretions containing barite range in size from less montana than 1 foot to 4 feet in diameter and are generally elliptical in shape. They are usually not intact when found on the surface, but this exposes the core material and enables one to determine if veterens the particular nodule contains home barite. A very small percentage of the concretions contain barite crystals. Specimens occur in all exposures of the barite zone, but it appears that the concretions montana in shale adjacent to both the longitudinal and transverse faults contain the highest barite concentrations. The faulted areas probably created more permeable conditions that concentrated the flow of mineralizing fluids. All concretions from this zone are fractured to some degree, and the pattern of this fracturing veterens can be used to identify these fault zones. The areas along fault planes were subjected to a shearing action that produced a pattern of fracturing that is different home from the desiccation montana cracking of a normal septarian concretion. The sheared concretions consist of a mass of small angular pieces cemented by largely anhedral, pale yellow calcite with small spaces between fragments. They do contain barite, but it is normally in the form of small crystals that are veterens hard to extract unbroken. Desiccated concretions consist of much larger pieces with a blocky or columnal home form and large, more planer openings. The best crystal-producing concretions have a roughly cubic core surrounded by several polyhedral external blocks. If there was crystallization in the large internal spaces (septa), crystals were free to grow without interference. In most cases new crystal growth began where openings pinched out or at the apex of sharp edges on concretion sections; these conditions are most common in the lower regions of concretions because the base sections are seldom fractured. When concretions are opened, the septa are often filled with fine shale particles and old ant nests. This material frequently contains dislodged crystals.
The anti-initiative coalition opened a campaign office in late September, and the coalition hired three staff people to carry out the day-to-day campaign and fundraising work.To hammer home the theme that the measures were "extreme," the coalition did the following: distributed more than 30,000 pieces of campaign montana literature; helped organize veterens and home press conferences in major Montana cities; montana coordinated with member organizations to veterens provide speakers at more than 60 different forums and debates; and assisted local organizations with development of speaker education packets and campaign information. Gard, Strang home also produced a 30-second television spot that ran in the final weeks (see above).
