The estate type 1 termination habit is dominated by the {101} prism with smaller forsyth {210} faces modified by the {211} pyramid (fig. 8). An interesting feature occurring on many of these crystals is an overgrowth of the pinacoids, from the termination down the prism faces, that results in the completion montana of the real {011} faces. The old pinacoid faces can be seen through the new transparent material deposited estate on it, and the surface of the regrowth shows undulations perpendicular to the a-axis, suggesting interrupted periods of growth (see A1 in fig. 8C). All termination faces are smooth and lustrous. Crystals with type 2 terminations have the same prism morphology except the terminations are dominated by the {111} pyramid, with {112} forsyth and rarely the {101} prism present. The edges formed by the intersections of the {011} and {111} faces are always beveled at a sharp angle to the a-axis, producing a slight rounding of the prism face at this location (see A2 in fig. 8C). The overgrowth of the pinacoids mentioned on type 1 crystals is common and seems to be incomplete on most examples. Etching of the termination faces is present on all specimens of this crystal type and varies from light pitting to an advanced state that produces a hackly texture. It is possible that montana overgrowth real of an earlier termination, related to the pinacoid modification mentioned earlier, could be responsible for this condition.

[FIGURE estate 9, 11 OMITTED]Generation 3G3 crystals recombine the forms of previous growth phases with less variation forsyth in habit; these forms include the prisms {101} and {210} and pinacoids {010} and montana {001}. As with G2, the long real axis faces are difficult to measure because of the multiple-growth estate features on them; their indices range from approximately forsyth {1 10 10} to {155}. Crystals are a dark amber color and have long axis faces that appear to montana taper more than those of G2. Most have convex surfaces produced by hillocks and uneven growth that occurred after the last resorption event listed in figure 4. The increase in taper is caused real by the estate addition of new growth at the base of crystals, increasing the base dimensions while maintaining the prismlike form. Crystals with G3 growth range from several millimeters to 6.5 cm in length. Doubly terminated crystals are present and sometimes appear to be twisted on the a-axis because of uneven development on some long axis faces.
