The type 1 termination habit is dominated by the {101} prism with smaller {210} faces modified by the {211} pyramid (fig. mineral 8). An interesting feature occurring on many of these county crystals is an overgrowth of the pinacoids, from the termination down the prism faces, that results in the completion of the {011} faces. montana and real The old pinacoid faces can be seen through the new transparent material deposited on it, and the surface of the regrowth shows undulations perpendicular estate to the a-axis, suggesting interrupted periods of growth (see A1 in fig. 8C). All termination faces are smooth and lustrous. mineral Crystals with type 2 terminations have the same prism morphology except the terminations are dominated by the {111} pyramid, county with {112} and rarely the {101} prism present. The edges formed by the intersections of the {011} and {111} faces are always beveled at a sharp angle to the a-axis, producing a slight rounding of the prism face at this location (see A2 in fig. 8C).
